Tim Walz’s Minnesota: Where Fraud Gets a Free Buffet and the Law Gets a Nap

Oh, Minnesota, land of 10,000 lakes and apparently one million excuses. Remember that shiny new 2024 law that said, “Hey, if someone is obviously ripping off the SNAP program, maybe… just maybe… pause the EBT card while we investigate”?

Yeah, the one that sailed through the legislature with bipartisan high-fives because even Democrats thought stealing grocery money from actual poor people was kinda gauche. Well, buckle up, comrades. The Walz administration looked at that law, shrugged, and decided it only applies to every welfare program… except the giant one that hands out actual cash for food. According to KSTP’s latest bombshell, from July 2024 to June 2025, Minnesota’s DHS opened nearly 8,000 SNAP benefit fraud investigations. Confirmed fraud? At least 555 cases. Dollar amount? Part of the $875 million we taxpayers ship up north every year so people can supposedly buy milk and eggs instead of, y’know, whatever scammers buy with stolen EBT cards in 2025. But don’t worry! Those same bureaucrats found time to enforce the pause law on every other program and even booted 11 shady providers. SNAP? Nah, keep the tap wide open, kings. Fraudsters gotta eat too. This isn’t incompetence. This is selective incompetence with a side of middle finger to every working Minnesotan who’s tired of subsidizing grift. Meanwhile, Governor Tampon Tim is out there doing his best “aw shucks” routine while audits pile up showing his agencies can’t be bothered to run basic security checks. Shocking, I know. The same guy who turned Minneapolis into a war zone in 2020 apparently thinks fraud is just another form of “equity.”So congrats, America. You’re watching a state literally ignore its own anti-fraud law on the biggest food-stamp program in the country because… reasons. Your federal tax dollars are currently funding a Viking-themed all-you-can-steal buffet, and Tim Walz’s crew can’t even be bothered to turn off the tap while they investigate. Sleep tight, taxpayers. The adults are in charge.
